Stephen Nelson

My name is Stephen (Steve) Nelson. I have been married to the love of my life for 26 years and am the proud father of 2 adult children and 3 beautiful grand daughters. My passion for serving others has led me on a path that began as the program director for a bible camp in Island Park, ID followed by 10 years as a case manager/director of the men’s transitional housing unit for the Idaho Falls Rescue Mission, working with men struggling with addiction and mental illness as well as spiritual and other issues that contribute to homelessness. It was there that I felt led to return to school and I enrolled at Liberty University in 2009 to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Religion and continued on in 2012 to obtain my Master of Arts in Professional Counseling, graduating in 2015. I spent half of my life living in and of the world before Christ got ahold of me and changed everything; and I believe the Lord has used this perspective to enable me to work with varying populations in my counseling career. As a counselor, I have worked with adults, adolescents and couples as well as those struggling with addiction. I started Pathlight Counseling LLC in 2019 with a desire to focus on Christ-centered treatment for those who are struggling emotionally and spiritually. Becoming an Enneagram Coach has allowed me to continue to focus on serving others from a Christ-centered perspective, using a tool that helps people discover and explore who God created them to be and live the abundant life He has called them to.
