About

Walking with middle-aged men through a transformation from what is no longer working, toward a life-giving purpose and spiritual fulfillment.

Born into a strong Christian home, I came to know Christ at an early age. Since called to ministry at Ridgecrest Conference Center, NC, in June of 1979, I ministered to young people vocationally until 1998. While in high school, I coordinated Youth Lay Renewal Weekends up and down the eastern seaboard. During my college years at Columbia International University (BA Bible, 87), I served as Minister of Youth for First Baptist Church, Irmo, SC, and spent summers jump-starting a youth ministry in Chatham, MA, and serving as a summer youth intern in Winter Park, FL. I also served on the Collegiate Advisory Council during the 1986 SC Billy Graham Crusade.

While attending Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth, TX (Masters of Divinity with Biblical Languages, ’90), I began working with Student Discipleship Ministries (a non-profit ministry committed to developing student discipleship materials for local churches nationwide, which also became the national material development and distribution headquarters for the “See You at the Pole” movement). I continued there as Director of Operations until January 1995, serving bi-vocationally four of those years as Youth Pastor of Cana Baptist Church, Burleson, TX. From January 1995-December 1998, I served full-time as Minister to Students at West Conroe Baptist Church in Conroe, TX. I currently live in Roebuck, SC, and have three adult sons, Chase (cruise ship entertainer), Carson (general contractor), and Cooper (computer programmer and co-founder of TownSquare Global app, married Aug. 14, 2021 to Mary). I have a rich variety of ministry experience and a heart for the individual teen, parent, minister, and layman (believer, unbeliever & unbelieving believer), homeless, and incarcerated (teens and adults).

For several years, God has been revealing to me deep ‘identity issues.’ In November of 1994, my father said: ‘Someday you’ll realize that ministry is far more who you are than what you do.’ While questioning how to measure true spiritual success, I embraced Paul’s words: ‘My children, with whom I am again in labor until Christ is formed inYou’ (Gal. 4:19). God’s greatest gift to man was His Son—a Person, not just a teaching. The heart of inYou Ministries is for the struggling individual searching for life in all the wrong places. The enneagram has shone a clear light on internal flesh patterns that help the transformative process of owning and then disowning who I had become before recognizing who I am and what I have in Christ!

REVIEWS

“People are much more complicated than they seem. Through the enneagram, I began to understand my underlying motivations, which helped me work toward stronger, more harmonious relationships. More importantly, Scott helped me understand myself and become more mindful of areas limiting a happier and the more fulfilling life Christ intended.” —Harrison (21 year old)

“Having an enneagram coach and going through the process of self-exploration has been life-changing. Scott made the journey for Jackie and myself one that we will always appreciate and use. Every couple should have an enneagram coach!” —Isaac McJimpsey

“I have received counsel from Scott on and off for a couple of years now. The most impactful thing about Scott is how he creates an environment of acceptance for healing to take place. He is a great listener and is skilled at confronting deceptions in thinking with accuracy and with the loving heart of Jesus. I would highly recommend Scott Wolfe to anyone seeking guidance and help in life.” —Richie Reese, Crossway Ministries Inc.
