Kenneth Colson, MA, MSW, CFSW, PLCSW, with the VA Vet Center serving 58 of the 93 counties in Nebraska. Ken is a retired Army Logistics NCO (RET:2012). He served three combat tours in Iraq (OIF) as a lead vehicle commander, .50 Cal gunner, and convoy commander, providing convoy security in the theatre of operations. Ken is also a Purple Heart recipient. Ken holds a BA in Business Management from Doane University and a Master’s in Management degree with a focus in Project Management and Human Resource Management and coaching also from Doane University. Ken graduated with a Master’s in Clinical Social Work from the Diana Garland School of Social Work from Baylor University. Ken sits on many local Veteran boards including the Veterans and Family Task Force, Local Homeless Coalition, EmployLNK, Veteran Career Fair Planning Committee, Veteran Treatment Court, and various others. Ken is active with various veteran organizations and has experience with veteran’s claims, benefits, case management, resource management, resume development, peer support, employment, and knowledge of the transition process as a transitioning veteran. Ken is also an Enneagram Informed Mental Health Practitioner and Enneagram Coach. Ken and his wife of 26 yrs. Erin who is also a Veteran live in Lincoln and have two son’s Kenny Jr. who just returned home from Active Duty in the U.S. Army, and Justin who is currently on Active Duty in the Army. Ken and his wife Erin are also Key Leaders for the Region 4 Chaplains with Operation Heal Our Patriots with Samaritan’s Purse.
