Walking beside People, Families, and Teams to bring Transformation from the Inside-Out
A native Atlantan, I am a husband to Devvie and father to four grown children. I am a Certified Enneagram Coach and I operate a coaching enterprise in Alpharetta, GA. I pursued undergraduate studies at Mercer University / Atlanta in History which led to a graduate degree in business at Georgia State University and a Masters Degree in Decision Sciences. From there I joined Equifax (Atlanta) and then The Coca-Cola Company (Atlanta) as an internal computer consultant. After seven years in Corporate America, I opted to follow another path.
As a family man, I began an entrepreneurial life at age 32. Starting two successful technical consulting firms and collaborating in a joint venture for a 3rd company, I navigated – like many of you – both beautiful and turbulent times. So many significant things come our way when we least expect it.
In 2009, after coaching and mentoring many men in their life journey about family, career, calling, and fruitful living, I stepped into a totally new arena. I started Four Streams Partners with help and encouragement from my family and closest friends. Having known the benefit of many mentors and too many gospel-loving friends to name, I have also been deeply influenced by the writings of C.S. Lewis, George MacDonald, Dallas Willard, and many others. In the writings of John Eldredge, I found language for desires and experiences I had long known but could not put to words. Four Streams Partners began as a Men’s Retreat and Discipleship endeavor and still operates as a ministry uniquely to Men.
While I remain the Executive Director of Four Streams Partners, I have invested time and energy to understand how the Enneagram can help people better understand WHY they think and do the way that they do. This, no doubt, helps the mission of Four Streams Partners. As an Enneagram 4, self-preservation subtype, I don’t actually ‘look like’ a Four. I have been studying the Enneagram since 2014 and have resonated deeply with the 4… and the 2, and the 3. Having ‘tried on the coat’ for other types, I have settled on the counter-type (Self Preservation) in the ‘4 family’. Since it is true that no one can ‘type’ you, except you, you will find that I am both patient and able to guide you in this journey.
This new chapter of coaching individuals, families, churches, and businesses through the lens of the Enneagram is part of the continuing Story for me. Even now as I write this, I am grateful for God’s great love and care for me. I hope to help people experience deep transformation. I use the Enneagram as an MRI to look at internal landscapes and then, invite Jesus to come and do the work of deep change that – ultimately – only he can do.
I look forward to working with you and your ‘team’, whatever it may look like.
Reviews:
“The {gospel apprentice} experience on Friday mornings, called “The Whole Man,” is different than anything I’ve ever been a part of, and has been a lifeline over the past couple of years. It’s a unique place to safely examine and understand your inner life and invite Jesus into that. I’ve gained some close lifelong friends from that group, and make it a priority in my week because of the profound impact it has on me spiritually and emotionally.’ ~ Matt (Type 7)
